After Summer

Monday, 24 October 2016 01:39 by Mari

It seems like it's been a while since the kids went back to school. But this time it was a different back to school.

Euan has moved to a new school. He loved then he hated it then he was (is, really) OK with it. He still misses his old friends. He was very close to some of the boys in his class and he didn't realise how comforting this was for him. Luckily we're catching up with these friends during half term.

Aidan is now in reception in the same school but without his brother. He started off by arguing with me all the way to school why it is unfair he has to go there every day. (He also finds it unfair Daddy has to go to work.) A is making new friends and doesn't complain as much these days.

This is the first time both boys are in full time school, so much time for myself now, or so I thought!

Summer School Fair

Monday, 27 June 2016 02:20 by Mari

We had our Summer school fair on Saturday. It was lovely to see all the parents working together to make money for the school. Contrary to what is happening in this country where everyone is angry wondering what their neighbours voted!

It was a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed taking photos of all the children (and adults!) who loved playing around with the Wild West props.

The weather didn't cooperate that much and it rained heavily in the afternoon. But over all it turned out to be a lovely day for everyone!

On the lack of time

Wednesday, 22 June 2016 01:59 by Mari

From school and nursery drop offs to school and nursery pick ups to cooking, cleaning, tidying and swimming lessons. I'm stopping there. Otherwise this will end up being a long list of boring chores. But I've decided to stop doing that and do more of what it really enjoy doing. One of which is improving this blog.

I also stopped cooking full on family meals every day. But I realise I quite enjoy doing that too. Kids love it they enjoy fish and a nice treat was having it all together noisily at the table.

Also amazing it only took few minutes to prepare.

I'm baking chocolate banana cakes for the school fair soon!

I don't want to go to school!

Friday, 13 November 2015 02:32 by Mari

To be honest I wasn't thrilled to get back to the school routine either. We spent a lovely week in Kos. The weather was great, the kids enjoyed the kids clubs and got to spend quality time with S.

All this comings and goings to the school splits the day and I find I hardly get any time to get anything done.

E got a project about Diwali last night from school as homework. He has to finish it off for Monday, is it just me or is this too of a short notice? We've got a packed weekend and we have to see how to fit it in. Well anyway. We have to get it done!
